So you’ve found the home of your dreams, and as soon as you can sell your old place - it'll be yours!

  1. Step 1: Do-It-Yourself

Most buyers are looking for a house they can move into straight away, so don't ignore those DIY jobs that look worse than they really are. Spend five minutes filling any cracks or divots in the walls. Then, bite the bullet and give it a coat of paint. Neutral colours work best they'll give the house the contemporary, relaxing feel that buyers love.

  2. Step 2: Focus On The Bathroom and Kitchen

One of the most efficient ways to add value to your place is to give the kitchen and bathroom a good going over.
You can make a huge difference to the appearance of these rooms without shelling out on expensive new suites and appliances. Just renew any mouldy old grout, give the tiles a good clean, and replace the towels, and it'll look as good as new.

  3. Step 3: Get Some Curb Appeal

Buyers will often drive past your house to see if they like the look of it before calling the agent, so sort out all those outdoor repairs that are needed. Paint any woodwork, gutters or eaves that need it, stick a few colourful flower pots around and don't forget to mow the lawn.
